Re-creation: Haas-Lilienthal House

We shot a series of re-creations circa 1890,  at the historic Haas-Lilienthal House, a sumptuous Queen Anne—style Victorian built in 1886 and donated to San Francisco Architectural Heritage by the famiies  in 1973. We shot a high-society party, as well as a Christmas party. Christmas Eve was a major event on the social schedule of a number of elite Jewish families, complete with a Christmas tree and gifts, suckling pig, and oysters. Christmas was not considered a religious holiday for these families, but an American holiday, similar to Thanksgiving.
